I purchased a 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Hemi a few months ago. Learned after purchase that it has an aftermarket cat-back exhaust.

Rumble sounds great on start up and acceleration. Friend who knows cars said it is likely a Flowmaster and that it was a quality install judging from welds and bends.

Two questions:

1. Any idea how to identify manufacturer to be sure?

2. Also, the drone can sometimes be annoying inside the cab. Looking for some proven solutions to reduce drone.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

You're gonna have to crawl under the truck, if it's a flowmaster it will have a seam down the middle of the case and a part number etched on it. This may be on the top or bottom depending how they orientated the muffler. Post a photo of the muffler if you can. Flows will also have the outline of the reflectors show up after it heat cycles and gets some surface rust.
As far as drone, mufflex makes a drone suppression j pipe and synapse engineering sells premade j pipes to have ok installed by a muffler shop. http://synapseengineering.com/products/nodrone.html Google helmholtz resonators or quarter branch resonator for a formular for the length needed. Probably a 24-26 inch.

Thanks for the tip. I don’t want to don anything too invasive. Should I possibly consider adding a resonator? Can I keep the rumble on the outside, eliminate the drone on the inside?
