cat back vs mufflex

my buddy at work told me to get an mbrp cat back it would do more and be alot better then the mufflex muffler...


1 is this true ?

2 if it is true what would i get from the cat back that i would not get from the mufflex ? and would it really be worth an almost 160 dollars more ?

Seriously though. Almost all the increase in power you'll see is in the muffler. MBRP and Magnaflow have very similar designs. The chances of the MBRP piping being THAT much better than the stock piping is just... well, I don't see it.

I've played the exhaust game on all but 2 vehicles I've owned (I'm on lucky #19). Unless the vehicle has super restrictive crap pipes (which the 4th Gen's don't) the only gain you're really see (without massive air flow increased (boost) are from the bumpers.

so how about the mufflex delete kit ? my buddy was telling me to just do that... but my guess would be its super crazy loud

Jeremy had one....i don't think it is super crazy loud, but if your state is like PA it will never pass inspection

ya i am in pa.... the guy at work said the two resignators on each of my tail pipes would pass as mufflers... how ever he also said to put the muffler back on before i took it into have it inspected then take it back off after inspection lol

well its 200 for the delete kit... ill give the extra 60 for the 14 inch muffler

I really liked how mine sounded the 2 days I rolled without a muffler.

That being said, it would get annoying as f*ck out on the open road. Might have been better with the tailpipes etc, but I'd think the 14" is the way to go. I wish I had gotten one. This 18" is tooooo quiet!

ya their is an 18 on ebay some guy said it was to loud for him... but i am holding out for a 14
