Wait until Ram puts direct injection in these trucks...you will definitely want a catch can then! I had a catch can on my 2013 F150 Ecoboost, then on my 2014 Ram Sport, then took it off at trade in and put the catch can on my 2016 Ram Rebel. You should see the pickle jar full of oil from my Rebel!

I have the BT and recommend it highly, however Morimoto is working on releasing one as well. Might be worth seeing what they produce.
There are a couple of others including some e-bay cut rates out there.

And once again in three pages nobody has mentioned the real reason to get a CC. If you install a Catch Can you will get at least 15 more horse power to the rear wheels and an additional 5 more if you put the manufactures decal on the truck rear window.

I will agree that they are worth every penny they cost. I dump mine every 3 thousand miles when I change the oil, and I always have at least 1 inch of oil in it each time. I have one from Billet Technology, and they have any color you want.

And once again nobody has mentioned a CAI will literally gain you nothing & sacrifice filtration for flow @ more then twice the price!
:happy107:

Oh pardon me! We are talking about the CC!
Excuse me for posting worthless $hit!

Thank you for reminding me that a red Billet CC adds an additional 3 to 5 more HP. :)

On a serious note though I do have a question I've wondered about when using a CC. I have seen quite a few posts in the entire time I've been reading CC posts of users that say when they dump their cans they have a soupy sludge. Is that because the catch can also creates water condensation from the warm oil vapor being captured into the canister?

Yes that is a very well explained article. You shouldn't have any questions after reading it.

I had a Billet Technologies catch can in my 300. Now with the 2014 Ram 1500, I was almost automatically going to get one. But part of me, despite all of the research I've done on them, still wonders about how important this particular mod is.

Just because it takes oil out of circulation and I have something to empty which mean it "works", I wonder about the true benefit of it in an everyday driver that my Ram is. I think I got the catch can for the 300 because I had a Diablo Predator tune and figured it would add to the performancer upgrade. But I am not tuning the Ram. I am not technician, but I feel adding an inline "filter" to the engine when it wasn't built that way may not be the best for the engine as manufactured. It's just how I think, and holds no value to proof of it being a benefit or not.

Truth is, for my asthma I think a cabin air filter would be much more beneficial, and wonder whyt it isn't standard.

Bang, I don't have a clue if a CC is beneficial or not. I do know I haven't read of any downside to having one.

I think that the cabin filter may be standard on most of the newer trucks---maybe middle of the year 16's and newer.
