I understand the 6.4 is made different so attaching a catch can is a no go. Is this correct?

Going back to the original post, in the old days fuel & air were mixed in the carb before the crankcase blow by oil. This gave you something to wash the oil out of the metal intake manifold. Today's injector's spray the fuel near the intake valve. This leaves nothing to clean the blow by oil out of the plastic intake manifold. This creates a build up of "gunk" in the manifold.
There was also a post about mounting your catch can as far away from heat as possible. In my experience, this is a lie unless you want to clean your catch can every 1000 miles. I have a catch can on my 5.7 Challenger mounted between the radiator and engine. There is some oil in it to clean out every 6,000 mile oil change. I also have a catch can on my 2.7 Magnum, but it's mounted on the crossbrace close by the master cylinder. It needs to cleaned every 3,000 miles in the summer and every 1,000 miles in the winter and is always milky. This is because it is too far away from heat. The metal catch can and hot blow by gases cause condensation to build up in the can. This is why it's worse in colder temperatures. I only wish there was a way to put one on my 6.4 truck!
