2018 3500 - Are you able to charge your cell phone using the USB outlets in the center console? I've got a new Samsung S20 and the output is not enough to charge the phone. Thanks!

On my 2018 2500, I have the full length console. I use the USB ports up in the armrest, where the coin holder is. It charges my iPhone XR fine, it also syncs with CarPlay. Are those the ports you are using?

Yes. There are two ports in the console. They work off & on. Not sure but maybe my new phone has a higher threshold. I've scheduled a service appointment.

Its not just you. I have had trouble charging my last several Samsung phones in various vehicles. I just use the 110v charger in my '14 RAM.

I just bought a cheap dual USB charger that plugs into the cig lighter socket below the cell phone holder on my full console 2018 2500. Works for mine and my wife's Note 20 Ultras, at the same time. Can't say I've ever tried to charge it off the USB ports in the armrest. I have a thumb drive in one of those, don't use the other one.

I use the USB in my 2018 Laramie full length console, i have to unplug it from the USB port for every charge or it will not charge the i phone. I can unplug and replug the lighting but it doesn't start the charge process unless unplug and replug the at the USB port. Pain in the butt! I constantly have a low battery because i forget to do this. Any one else have this issue?

FYI - I suggested to the RAM service advisor that it might be"normal". He said they've actually replace a lot of the USB ports so he encouraged me to have it tested.

That’s odd, I have a 2018 BH 2500 crew cab with full console. I use both USB ports inside the console, plugged in all the time. One charges my iPhone and syncs with CarPlay, and the other charges my vape. I never have to unplug or replug them.

My resolution: Ram replaced the whole center console in order to replace the cable harness which was damaged or defective. The phone charges fine now.
