AEV's diff cover has the exact same inner profile as the stock cover.
Good to know, JUST never thought this could be a issue !!!AEV's diff cover has the exact same inner profile as the stock cover.
Yeah I ended up with about 3.5 liters coming out (dont judge me on the metric ****, it's what was on the can I poured into) lol.
Anyway. First thing. I was pretty disappointed at the color of the fluid that came out. My old 1500 got its first diff service at 100k. And the fluid didnt look half as bad.
Next thing. There is a zip tie in the diff holding a group of wires... they didnt even trim the dang zip tie. So as I was putting the cover on, it got between the gasket and housing. Just a PSA for anyone else that does this.
Other than that. All went well. I just refilled it till it started weeping out. Then twisted up a paper towel and let it absorb some excess to get it just below the plug.
Aside from one of my cichlids being viauously attacked while I was working hahaha.

Say a prayer. He passed. Man he got tore up so bad. Tried to get him in a quarantine tank with some "medicine" and warmth. But it's a no go. LolYour Cichlid doesn’t look like he’s doing so well lol.
I don't have a power wagon but there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable folks on this thread so I'm posting here. I have a 2020 Ram 3500 4x4, Hemi, SRW, 4.10 gears and plan to change the rear diff oil based on what I'm seeing here. Plan to use Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 (Product Code SVGPK-EA). Do I need an additive for the LSD like Amsoil Slip Lok? I'm not sure what I have in the rear end of this truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I definitely don't want to get this wrong.
I don't tow anything. Build sheet says 11.5" axle with anti-spin. I believe I have an AAM 11.5" 14 bolt rear axle with a TracRite GT Helical LSD (per AAM website - no friction additives are needed). Hoping someone can confirm my interpretation.
Assuming I'm correct and an additive is not require, is it ok to use an oil like Red Line that contains "additional friction modifiers"?

You're good man. Meets GL5Guys - did I buy the correct Redline gear oil? Sepp's post above has me second-guessing myself...
THIS is what I bought...
Cool.
Was worried about not ordering the "NS / sans modifier" version.
