Hey guys, I know this has been brought up before but I just had the check ETC message come up on my cluster with a lightning bolt and check engine symbol.
This is a 2014 RAM Tradesman 4X4 with 6.4L and 48k miles.
So far, no noticeable loss in performance.
I ran the codes with my scan tool and have the following active codes:
P1C4E - ABS DTC PRESENT
P2181 - COOLING SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
B16B715 - CENTER STOP LAMP OPEN CIRCUIT
B22A900 - ECU INTERNAL PERFORMANCE
I also have the following stored codes:
C007700 - LOW TIRE PRESSURE
B1A2500 - INVALID KEY
U014000 - LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BCM
U012600 - LOST COMMUNICATION WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
U000288 - CAN C BUS OFF PERFORMANCE
The coolant temp never seems to reach operating temp so my hunch is that the thermostat is stuck open triggering the P2181 and the check ETC message.
I'm not sure what the ABS code could be, possibly something to do with that steering angle sensor?
and obviously, the brake light bulb was dead so I replaced it. It had water inside of the bulb because the foam gasket on my brake light was dried out and not sealing properly.
I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow morning so I will post a follow up when it finished.
