I installed a cold air intake on my 2018 6.7 Cummins. Capped the CCV port on the intake tube and put a filter on the CCV hose. Drove 200 miles and now I have a check engine light. Code is from the CCV. Put the hose back in place between the CCV pipe and intake tube. Can anyone please tell me how to clear the code and turn off the check engine light?

You should be able to clear the code with any can enabled obd2 tool, but it will trip again unless you correct the problem, which it sounds like you've done. Disconnecting the batteries and then re connecting will reset the truck as well in most cases.

I disconnected both batteries this morning for approx. 45 minutes, BEFORE I corrected the problem. Check engine light is still there. I'll try it again. Don't have an OBD2 tool. Do you know if O'reilly can clear it with their OBD tool? Thanks for the reply.

Parts store place should be able to clear it if they have a tool, but I cant say for sure. They may just have a reader only so parts guys dont fiddle with stuff. I have a 100 buck one and it clears codes so maybe its time to get one in your toolbox. They are a lot cheaper now and many come with lifetime updates. It may be cheaper than the diesel used to run back and forth to the parts store for a few resets if you have to mess with it more.

Theres a couple obd2 threads on here. I'm using a stand alone autel. I like the package because it includes lifetime updates and technical support, but there are android apps that link to an obd bluetooth dongle that you can set up for less than 20 bucks. Seems like if you're apple you're options are more limited.
