I know there have been some threads on this but they are a little dated. So I am asking the question which chip programmer would be the best for my 2003 Dodge Ram QC 5.7 Hemi? I have looked at Bully Dog, Edge Products, and Diablosport. I have not compared these programmers capabilities, but I figured I would throw the question out. Also if anyone has some other programmers they like, I would like to know them as well.

Hit up Matt and get a Superchips for the most user friendly. A DSP will be for you doing custom tuning and going more in depth. The Edge and Bully dog are on a few gassers but they are more of the Diesel world.

Ok stupid question but what does DSP stand for? And I'm guessing Matt is from Moe's Performance? I also looked up SuperChips for my Dodge. What is the difference between the Cortex model and Flashpaq model other than the price?

Cortex does more but the 03 is limited so go with an older unit. DSP is Diablo Sport Pred, I believe you will have to get a Trinity unless someone had back stock of the Pred. Matt is the owner of Moes Performance and tends to have the best prices on the net.

Ok. Looks like I will be looking more closely at the SuperChips Flashpaq. Thanks for the input.

03 hemi as mentioned has limited tuning available so the best bang for the buck is a old SC3815 usually can be bought around $140. Check the ckassifieds on the various forums.

Like mentioned, Superchips is the way to go on your 03. The 3815 has the same tuning, but it has been discontinued for more than a year now and wont carry any warranty if you ever have any trouble with it. The 3865 is the new Flashpaq that will also allow you to datalog and record 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for fun.
