Okay so right now I'm at stock wheel/tire and suspension.
I've got a 2013 Express 2wd and my setup plan is going to be the Maxtrac 4.5" front spindles with a 2.5" steel spacer giving me 7" in the front. I'm only gonna put a 1.5" coil spacer in the back because I like that squat/lean stance. As for wheels I would like to be able to run 22x14's but my college kid budget is preventing that...so I'll most likely be running 20x12's with 35x12.50's and maybe even 2" spacers with that for the x14 stance.

I'm wondering if anyone is running this setup or has seen it, I would hate to get all my parts and find out down the road that it isn't gonna work out.

And a little post-note here, does anyone else wish the 1500's came with 6 lugs? I came across so many different wheels that were only offered in 6 and 8 lugs. I fell in love with a handful of wheels from Hostile and realized they were only offered in 6 and 8 lugs

They make wheel lug adapters. That can make a 5.5 lug fit into a 8 lug.

but also you run the risk of your wheels falling off if youre not careful..

Yeah exactly, I have enough anxiety as it is. I couldn't handle that haha
I like the idea of spacers because if I go off-roading or on a road-trip I can take off the spacers and have nothing to worry about. If I run adapters I have to keep them on 24/7

I'd get some adapters made to run the wheels you want.

I've seen a lot of posts about wheel adapters and not being safe. Kinda funny because I ran cheap e-bay 1.5" wheel adapters on my 17x9 beadlocks with 35x12.50s on my pig of a 4-door jeep. I wheel the living snot out of it. I broke a rear shaft and twisted the spline on the other. On a separate wheeling trip I sheered 2 teeth on the ring gear and chipped another 3 or 4, not to mention the chewed up pinion. So I was in no way easy on my jeep. The wheel adapters never showed any signs of failure in the 3 years I ran them. This included daily driving and I put about 20K mile a year on the jeep.

I know the truck is heavier than my jeep was, but not by much. With 3/16" steel bumpers front & rear with 9500# winch , full size spare, hard top, rock sliders, full undercarriage 3/16" steel skid plates, tools, spare parts, loaded ice chest (typical load out for a day long wheeling trip) my jeep was easily in the 5500# range. Add 2 or three adults and we're looking at about 6K.

I know a lot of people who ran 1.5" & 2.0" spacers in order to run stock wheels and wheeled their jeeps too with no ill effects. BUT, it's your truck and everything is a risk. You have to be aware of the risks and consequences of your decision. I'm going to run adapters later on, but it's not for everyone. I will admit, piece of mind goes a long way.

Just my $0.02 on wheel adapters/spacers

Thanks man, I guess if you know what you're doing and buy high-quality adapters there's nothing to worry about. And what do people mean when they say "make sure you torque them regularly?" I know what torquing means, but if you're doing it "regularly" wouldn't that mean that they're constantly coming loose?

My only real concern is running adapters with a x12 wheel. I'm probably gonna end up with rubbing issues and I'm not sure I'll like that much stance.
I just came across something on another forum that said you can order blanks from wheel companies and then take them to get drilled for your bolt-pattern. So I'm definitely gonna look into that.
Wheels are so stressful!
