Hello! Recently did a major repair on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. (Lifters, Cams, Head Gasket, etc.)
Has been running great for 3 weeks now. Just started doing the same symptoms as before (originally the code was a cylinder 7 misfire, cleared after all repairs were done) Truck is again shuddering and idling rough. Check engine light came on and its now throwing a P1411 Code. Google isnt giving much. Any ideas on what the cause is? Thanks.

P1411 can indicate problems with the MDS system. Wiring harness, MDS solenoid, MDS lifter problems can throw the code. Broken valve spring can also cause this code.

3 weeks ago all the lifters were replaced, the infamous hemi tick is gone and its been running better then ever since. Until the code today. Thanks for the info and we will check the wiring harness and the MDS Solenoid. Really hoping a lifter didn't fail, but we don't hear any clicking/ticking sounds like we did before

  • Low oil pressure or blocked oil passage
  • Faulty MDS Solenoid
  • MDS Solenoid harness is open or shorted
  • MDS Solenoid circuit poor electrical connection
  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
Start by checking the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.
