My 1500 with 3.6 pentastar runs between 224 and 230. Is this normal

I want to say I saw a TSB somewhere about a water pump issue that the 3.6L has or it could have been a thermostat issue? 230 is pretty toasty but not enough to damage the engine. I would take it in under warranty.

230 is pretty high, but I think that's normal for that engine.

Somebody had the same question a while ago with the 3.6L.
Was this just sitting at idle?

My last vehicle was a Wrangler with the 3.6. It ran pretty hot also at 225 degree but that seem to be the norm. Anything above 245 degrees seems to be where things get dicey.

In hot/warm weather, while towing or in stop and go traffic, it seems like that would be normal.

Mine ran 220+ frequently here in the Phoenix summer, but not all the time. It mostly hovered around 215. That was a RCSB with no passengers, cargo, or towing, and I try to stick to freeways.
