I have a FRAM FT1223A filter kit I bought years ago, just before the plethora of issues this Dodge has had... looking to finally drain the trans and replace the filters.
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7l Hemi 4x4 Auto
Plan is to leave the cork gasket out flat in the sun while I remove the pan, lightly smear vaseline on the gasket (both sides) and put onto the pan. Put the bolts in to hold it and probably sit in the sun a bit to stretch and settle, then put onto the trans.
That sound like a plan?

Forget the cork, potentially too many issues, grab a rubber (or whatever) gasket instead.
I'd rather use a gasket than that sealer in a tube.
