Welp, here I am about to retiring from the Army, living in a hotel room for a couple of days until I move my family home and I get the CEL with a P0520. Engine and everything is running fine. So, I got to advance to get one and the kid at the counter was a hair smarter than my puppy. Anyways, the one he sold me is a three prong type. Now that i have gotten a chance to get under my truck to do the work its a 2 wire connector going into the old one. Could anyone here that has done this job point me to the correct PN. This is a 2013 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L. Any help would be appreciated.

Your right. I was just being lazy going to advance because I am in a bind with getting ready to travel and across the country and dealing with my last days in the service. Thanks for the advice. Will follow up later. Also, do you happen to know why my old one on the truck is a two prong and the ones they keep trying to sell me is three prong. Does the connector on the wiring harness have a dummy plug?

I'm not sure what they're trying to sell you, lol.I just went to my local dealer and bought the replacement, unscrewed the old one, screwed the new one in place and it was good to go,i forget if it was a 2 or 3 prong sending unit,as it's been a few years, but i've never had any issues with it since.

So folks, 25 years as a tank mechanic and I still make mistakes. Turns out, I was looking at what is probably the oil temp sensor and never thought to look a little higher lol. Long story short, found the correct sensor and replaced it. All is well now. Thanks for your help Wild One.
