'12 Ram 1500 with 3.7 V-6. The oil pressure light would illuminate intermittently, and I was told that the sending unit was going bad. Had the same shop replace oil pressure sending unit and same problem continued, just not as frequently. I've discovered that if I turn truck off and then crank again, the oil pressure light will go out. Sounds like an electrical problem rather than a bad sending unit. Anyone else here had the same problem?

Is it reading realistic numbers? A bad oil pressure sensor usually reads 99 or 100 psi

Are you sure it’s electrical? You’ve replaced the sending unit. Could you, in fact, have an oiling issue and the flickering light is telling you “Hey, problem. You ain’t got enough oil pressure.”

Unfortunately, I don't have a gauge, just a light. What leads me to believe that it's an electrical issue is that turning the engine off and back on, clears the indicator light.

Changed the oil about six weeks ago, so less than 300 miles on this one.

OEM or aftermarket sensor? Aftermarket sensors have a bad rep of not playing nice with the factory electrics.Have you tried a differant oil filter to?

Replaced original sensor with OEM sensor in August 2024. I acquired the truck in April 2023 and about a year ago is when the problem started. I'm pretty sure that the oil has been changed several times since last year, so I don't think it's the oil filter.

Without more troubleshooting testing data of either checking actual pressure with a mechanical gauge and/or checking electrical circuit integrity, you are just guessing.

You can run a few oz’s of seafoam in the engine. A couple hundred miles before next oil change. That will clean up any deposits that may be causing an issue. If that doesn’t work . Then start looking at electrical . Just read the bottle for how many oz’s per quart of oil. Some newer vehicles have lil screens in the oil passage going to the sensor. Not sure if the 3.7 does.
