Yeah I know this isn't a Ram but thought maybe somebody might know something. Cousin bought a used Renegade about a year ago. Not sure what year but maybe 2016 or so. It was still under warranty when she bought it. Driving down the road one day it quit running. Dealer towed it and found it was low on oil so the sensors shut the engine down. They topped it off and a few days later same thing. Apparently no leaks cause the dealer had it for 3 weeks and put 1000 miles on it so I would think they would have found any leaks. While they had it it ran over the mileage limit on the warranty and the problem isn't fixed. Dealer says there is nothing wrong with it and now won't honor her warranty cause of the miles. Now I got all this info from my mother so it is 2nd hand. But ultimately she is underwater on it and now the dealer refuses to honor her warranty even though she initially took it in while the warranty was still valid. This is the same dealer I have had tons of issues with. In the end she raised her voice to them and they threw her out and she is not allowed back in there. Oddly, they damaged my step-sons wheel on his car and when he told them he wanted a new wheel they told him they would get him one but then they were done with him. BTW-the dealer is Napleton CJD in Ellwood City, PA.
I told my mother to have her call Chrysler Cares and see what they say and to also try a different dealer. My understanding is if the issue started and was reported while the warranty was still valid and it isn't fixed then it is still covered? Napleton said nothing is wrong with it but I guess she adds oil to it very often. She also has a key FOB issue. Sometimes it won't work at all then sometimes while driving down the road the doors start locking and unlocking.
Any ideas or suggestions?
