Hello all! First time poster, long time Ram owner.

My 2005 Ram 1500 (Hemi 5.7) started dying occasionally as I was driving a few weeks ago. Actually pretty scary stuff losing power steering on the highway.

Got a P0335/P0344 message on the parts store OBD and replaced the crankshaft position sensor yesterday. The instruction with the replacement sensor was incredibly helpful as it recommended putting my truck on a dyno and running up to 70 MPH and decelerating without brakes after putting in the new part.

I started to do all of the above after replacing the sensor (a huge hassle BTW) but realized at the last second that I don't have a dyno. :doh2:

Question: Truck is still stumbling as I accelerate driving around today. It didn't die on me but makes me nervous. Thought about replacing the Throttle Position Sensor (called Intake Air Temp sensor by Dodge for the Hemi). The guys at the parts store said I really just need to drive it to reprogram the computer.

I bought the part for $12 just in case but what do you folks think?

Actually intake air temp is a different sensor, located in the air intake tube
The tps sensor is intergrated into the throttle body and the accelerator pedal postion sensor is is the gas pedal.
You should not just replace sensors based on what the parts store code reader pull.
A real garage with a real scanner could diagnose the problem and just change 1 sensor. In the long run you will save time and money unless you like changing parts for fun. In that case have at it!

Not trying to be rude thats just what i think. The parts guy will let you use his code reader and sell you parts all day long but its mostly luck when hes right.
For example the tps and iat being the same :superhack:

did you do any kind of reset on the PCM like unhooking the battery after installing the new part? I still don't think the symptoms should have persisted with the new sensor in but you never know. Maybe it'll throw a new code.
