Good morning. Driving on Interstate 94 Michigan yesterday about 65 MPH I go and press the cruise control button and nothing happens. I push repeatedly and after about 6 times the cruise icon comes on the dash then I'm able to set at about 65 MPH. Has happened several times and seems as though there may be a problem. Opinions please on having to repeatedly push the "on" button. Thanks. Should include truck is '18 2500 6.4 with 4.10 gears.

I have had this issue a few times. Very random and haven't had the issue come up in over a year now. I have similar issues with garage door opener randomly not working.

Probably needs the cruise control switch. It’s a fairly common failure.

sounds really weird but give it a hard flick with your finger.....usually fixes it.

happens to me occasionally--if I pull over shut down restart it's fine. Would like to find a fix for it though.

Try pressing down the cruise control on/off button and at same time press & release set button.
It was a pita when it stopped working till I found that tip.

I’ve had the garage door opener not work a couple times but haven’t seen an issue with cruise just yet.

Classic cruise switch. I had the same problem. Changing the switch fixed it.

All the buttons in my Ram are randomly unresponsive. On the steering wheel as well as the ERS buttons on the column shifter (2015 6 speed) .

When I brought it up to the service writer on 2 separate occasions they declared they could not duplicate (I tried to show them, they were not inclined to care at all) .

It's not a serious problem for me but it's annoying, like how hard is it to make a button work properly? You can buy the cheapest computer keyboard on ebay for under five dollars and it has 100+ keys and I bet every single one of them works.

So I had this issue as well. At first the techs said it was the switch. They replaced it and it didn’t change anything (they didn’t charge me for the switch since it wasn’t the problem). They said it was likely the airbag clock spring. I haven’t replaced it yet, but seems logical since your electrical connections for those switches pass through there.
