So what brand/kind of dash cam are people using these days?

I am going to pick one up and want one that has a clear enough pictures that I can pull tag numbers off of.
I was ran off on to the shoulder today by a ******* that did not even look or even seem to care, the whole time I was blowing my horn.
If I had not taken the shoulder of the road she would have side swipped my truck.

Thanks for any info.

I've had Cobra ones for a while, they are not great quality and seem to go bad after a year. I bought this one when I get my new truck, it is great and super great quality....very very reasonable on price also.

I just bought this one.

It's a great camera with pretty good resolution. The app is less to be desired though. It works as it should, but it can be confusing.

I also purchased the hardwire kit. It came with 3 fuse taps, but these trucks use micro fuses and none of the 3 taps were micro. I called Amazon and they let me buy 2 micro taps while on the phone, and refunded me the total amount.

And then the taps that I bought were slightly too big to fit in the fuse box. I had to file down the sides to get them in.

I really like the camera, so even with the app and tap issues, I'm keeping it. Once I got over the learning curve, and got the taps in, things work great.

I've had a few dashcams. I ordered and waiting for my Blackvue DR900S to be delivered. 4k quality.

Check out these comparisons, especially at the 3:10 mark

I've a Falcon Zero 170F that has been in service for over a year now with no issues. Some of the video has been turned over in defense of other driver's misfortune.

Regardless of what dash cam you go with, use High Endurance Micro-SD cards.

dang, 500 bucks! No thanks, I rather spend that money on other mods. My 2k yi cam is phenomenal and quality is excellent.

I run two goluk T3 dashcams. Both are $100 each on amazon and come with a 32GB card. They have no screen and look like the blackview so you can hide them easily. I run two bc I wanted 1080 front and back. Most dual camera systems like blackview etc give u 720 rear which is crap. The goluk T3 have parking modes, motion detection and WiFi so u view everything on your phone easily. I hardwired both, front is on with the truck on and the rear is on all the time.

I’ve tried a few different ones and these are the sleekest, offer the best bang for your buck while being invisible to the eye.

Do t have any pics of the rear one yet but I’ve covered both chrome lense rings black with carbon fiber vinyl and they are invisible now.

Been using a Yi dash cam now for a few months, zero issues. Hardwired to my rear slider power in overhead panel.

I have a Thinkware F750 with rear camera, hardwired to my rear view mirror power. It has very good resolution for a dashcam.

I realize old thread but I tried wiring into the slider didn't work. What colors did you tap into as there wasn't a solid red for power? There was a black wire that's ok and used probe to find hot after truck started still didn't work weird.

We picked up the Nextbase line of dash cams. Very good product and are priced right. Lots of options too. Check them out and let us know if we can help. We can offer a quote on anything you are interested in

I went with a Thinkware F750 after watching lots of side by side comparisons. The video quality is great and it has the rear cam also. I hardwired it to the power in my rearview to avoid running the power down to the dash. It was in my '07 for a couple of years and is now in my '10.
