Dash cluster dimming and brightening.

2013 ram 2500, 5.7 hemi. 72k on it. The dash started dimming and brightening on its own today with the headlights on auto and off. Turn the headlights on manual and set the dimmer anywhere besides bright and it’s fine. The flickering bounces back and fourth randomly with no real timed pattern. Sometimes 2 seconds sometimes 5. I’ve heard headlight switch and I’ve heard dash all together. Anyone run into this issue yet? With a diagnosis and fix?

The instrument cluster auto-dims when in darker areas. You can turn this function off via the menu.

Unless you mean like an actual flickering. If that’s the case, I would have it looked at. Sounds wiring/ground related.

Do you have an aftermarket radio in your truck?

No factory 8.4 radio. It’s not flickering, just the center information screen dims and brightens. It will go dim and then bright and back and forth. It’s a quick change almost as if the headlights are turning on and it’s dimming the screen. Doesn’t affect gauge sweeps or radio tho
