dash top panel

i just bought a low mileage 1992 d150 and the plastic on the top of the dash has totally been destroyed by sun damage. i looked online for a new one but all i can find is replacements for 1994 and up.

Did you try LMC truck they may offer what you need

By the time I need a few things... its easier for me to buy another $200-700 truck for parts. If you'd rather not tamper with the VIN tag, make sure you get the parts truck paperwork straight.

I prefer the pre-90 dash because it has a spot for a center-channel speaker.

I've done this too. cheaper to buy parts trucks. hard part is disposing of the remaining 'carcasses'. so far, I've resorted to using my plasma cutter to section the left over metal parts and listing free scrap metal on craigslist.

I tried the pick a part places but all the dash boards were in worse shape than mine! Found out about a similar truck that was in NH (across the country from me) and was going to tow it here for parts...but just ended up dropping that crazy idea.
All AZ trucks have no body rust but sun rotted interior!
I’m very happy with my new dash!

yes i found a top cover panel from auto zone for 30$. wont fix it but at least cover it up. only one i found on ebay was way over priced.

Funny... I've only had to resort to 'chop shop' disposal since moving to an island... but anywhere else I've lived (within 50 miles of a city) you practically have to chain down your parts truck or it disappears on its own.
