P.S.
This is yet another example of why buyers should NEVER EVER let a dealer touch the paint on their truck. They more than likely will do a lot more harm than good.

This just reinforces my opinion. In fact, I had a large dent with paint damage on my hood not too long ago and the Service Manager himself said "don't get the work done here". he actually gave me a referral elsewhere. Shows the confidence of people working at the dealership!

You got the dealership completely off the hook by letting another party touch your truck.
The dealership knows this too.
Regardless, I hope everything works out for you in the end

I met with one of the managers at the body shop today. He confirmed the scratches and let one of the managers at the dealership know.

The dealer will let me know what their decision is tomorrow. They might just give me my trade back, but I want to ensure that I have the remained of the warranty and it shows up as one owner for resale value purposes

At dealer right now. Chrysler protected me and paid the difference on the trade with a $5000 rebate which was roughly the depreciation cost.

The only colors I have to choose from are western brown and black... Leaning toward western brown.

Just glad they're makin' it right. Personally I love black, but it is a pain to keep clean IMO. Though my OCD makes everything a pain to clean. :laughing1:

I think I'm going to go with brown. This one is a Laramie longhorn with the two tone trim.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I am glad that Chrysler was willing to step up.
It was an unfortunate situation all around.

There seems to be bed liner over spray down the side of it. The body shop is trying to take it out.

I haven't purchased it yet, so its a waiting game now.

I'm definitely not going to let them detail it. However I had to get them to wash it off quickly to inspect it.

On the sold tag it says DO NOT WASH.

You can go to "autogeek" for detailer supplies and to "autopia" for detailer information. Both sites are excellent sources of information about products and DYI. It's easy to get an overload of information but they will give you a starting place on how to keep your truck looking good and how to best protect the finish.

Mine did too. The guy argued with me. I said "If you want it back, go ahead and wash it, it's bad enough it's been 'washed' by some yutz you pay $4 a car with a pressure washer already"
