I upped the throttle boost to 20% like a lot of guys do, and changed my tire size, that's it. I'm running the HF 89 tune. I am new to this particular tuner, and am wondering if you guys are adjusting anything else past the HF tune and getting results? Some questions...

1 - is there gonna be any noticeable difference between 89/91 tune? Seemed my truck ran better on the 89 tune actually. I have 91 gas in, and have not data logged or got a post-data log tune. (do those help?)

2 - can I adjust shift points? My first gear seems non-existent bc of 3.92 gears with the 8 speed

3 - did you guys adjust any of the additional parameters that you can change before installing the tune?

I want to be safe, but I want to squeeze out anything left on the table.

You wont be able to tune it better than Hemifever, so I would just send him a datalog, and let him manke any changes, if necessary. You cant change shift points on an 8 speed, so there isn't much to do there.

Do you have a catch can installed? 180 thermostat installed? how many tanks of 91 have you run through it?

The 91 octane tune may have too much timing for your current setup which will cause knock and make it feel slower than the 89 tune. Only way to tell is to send him a few datalogs so that he can see what the truck is doing.

620Mac, I've been running his 93 octane tune. When I first got it I put my tire size in, turned MDS off, upped my idle RPM in drive, and upped my throttle boost 20%. Sent the data logs back to him and he said all looks good.

Yeah I actually put the 91 back on, put throttle boost to 10% like he recommended, changed my tire size, and it's running really good actually. I've really noticed a lot more highway power than before, but I did one quick 0-60 today with a 4wd launch at about 2000rpm, and got like 6.53. That's using the stopwatch on my phone, plus having a lift and 275/65 10 ply tires. So really that's not bad at all I think. I'm gonna do the data log, hopefully we can tweak it a little more, but I'm happy, it's running good.

I agree with Matt, I wouldn't mess with Hemifever's tune. Sean has them dialed in to where there isn't more to be had... not safely at least.
It's now been a year running strong with my Hemifever tune. :)

What settings do you go into to change the rpm? He told me to up it by like 100, but I'm still new to it and don't want to change the wrong stuff. Thanks!

When you load the tune on the truck it'll say something like adjust parameters(?). Then you hit yes and there is a big list of things. Somewhere on the list is RPM. It should be in there. I think you can go to settings to and do it with a tune already on and just adjust the parameters there, but I haven't tried that.

Seen all that, but I think it's got like 4 setting under the rpm tab. Fan off, fan on, and two other ones if I believe. Do I need to raise all four of them?

I didn't touch those. I just did the idle RPM in drive with AC on and off.

What's the benefit of raising the RPM'S by 100. HF did mention in his email that it could be dome with no issues, but I didn't mess with his tune.

At first I did 200 RPM's, but it almost idled at 1000 RPM. Was to high for me. I put it at 100 and I liked it better. Sean said its supposed to help your acceleration a bit. It won't hurt to play with it, but I wouldn't go over 200.
