You have me convinced! :p
I second the 3.92 gears gear suggestion. I have the 3.55's and I regularly tow a truckload of firewood. All I can fit in the bed. (About 1200 pounds maybe?)Green oak is heavy. But im not happy with how it does on the highway especially on steep grades.

I believe lower gears will help your tranny last longer also. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

(Also maybe unrelated, idk, at 20k miles my transmission is out and at the dealer for warranty work possibly a side effect of towing all the time, and maybe a lead foot.)

Will we have the option of gear choice with the EcoDiesel?

Yes. You can go to Ram's website and build a EcoDiesel with either 3.21, 3.55, or the 3.92 gears.

In an earlier post you said you couldn't get the V6 pentastar engine in a Big Horn crew cab however that is not correct. The V6 pentastar engine is standard and the Hemi costs an additional $1,150.

Can you get a manual transmission with any of the new 1500's? I tried to find one when I bought my 2012. I didn't order it. I just checked about 10 different dealerships. But didn't have any luck

Maybe in U.S this package is standard, but here in Canada if you go on the build site and put in Crew Cab the V6 option disappears??

That is a sweet set up!

Thanks man. Mines the 05 600mxz. Brothers 12 800 assault. And 02 700 edge. Had 2 long tracks and my short in it last weekend. Was a tight fit. Have foam blocks for between sleds and walls just incase something comes unhooked.

I would love to come ride in NB one day. Our season has been pretty good so far, a solid December. However there calling for rain and +7 this Saturday which will hurt some of the trails.
This is my second season on my 2012 MXZ X 600 Etec.. I love this machine!

the 6'4 bed is selected by default, change to 5'7 and the 3.6 will be available again.

I tired it with the shorter bed as well as the short bed and the Quad, and it only gives me the Hemi option??

It looks like anything higher than the Outdoorsman trim do not have the V6 option. Though now I am seriously considering the Outdoors man lol

With your daily driving requirement I though the ecodiesel was the perfect choice. Hemi's SUCK (gas) for commuting and short trips.
I would have something smaller to pull our trailer if I could.

I was thinking the same, but now when comparing price between an Outdoorsman V6 and a Big Horn Ecodiesel there is a substantial difference. And my whole life I have driven SUV or the Astro van, and this is the only time in my life where towing this trailer I feel I need something better to do it with.
The V6 I think should have ample power to do what I need it to for the 4 months in the year I need it, and be small enough that I am not paying a mortgage on my gas bill. I actually looked at the real world MPG of both my current Pontiac torrent v6 and the Outdoors man V6 and they are practically the same.
