Difference between the 97 and 98 dash

I see on eBay. They have a lot of the core support for the dash it holds up the dash And, the glove compartment, etc. there are a lot listed for the 98 through 2001 can someone tell me why it won’t work in my 97?

There are substantial differences in the dashboard layout between the two as seen in the images below. Since the core support is shaped specifically to the contours of the visible dash panels they are not interchangeable.
