Hey
Looking for someone to help me out.
My 8hp70 tranny went in my 2014 Ram and am swapping in a transmission from a 2018. The issue I'm having is the pilot on the 2018 TC is about 1.75" and my old one is 1.338". I'm not able to get the pilot sleeve out so I was looking for options on RockAuto.

Can someone tell me if both these would work in my truck? Reason im wanting the CR3505 is because its in stock and dont want my truck sitting waiting for one for too long. 1000018848.jpg1000018846.jpg1000018847.jpg1000018845.jpgThey look very similar but want to make sure it will work and what the difference will be performance wise. Thanks

They both have different codes. I welded two tacks to my pilot and slide hammered iy out no issues. Just put a hellcat torque in it.

Hellcat convertor doesn't work on the 70's,the input shafts are differant between a 8HP90 and 8HP70. The early 14/15 SRT Jeeps with the 6.4 and the 1320 Challenger's are the only factory applications that used a high stall convertor in the 70

Another way to remove a pilot bushing is to stuff the hole full of bread and use a heavy drift that just fits inside the bushing hole, and then hit the drift with a good sized hammer, grease will also work, but i find bread to be better then grease. You sure the replacement transmission is a 8HP70,as i never heard of differances in the torque convertors pilot bushing's

I've never thought of that. Just watched a video on it. Thanks! Will need to find something fairly big.

Before you remove the bushing, you better check your replacement transmission,as i've never heard of any differances in the 8 speeds convertor pilot, makes me wonder if you might have an RFE transmission instead of a 8HP70.The RFE transmission was still fairly common in 2018 up here,as Canada was FCA's dumping ground for their old RFE stock

It's definetly a 8HP70. Swapped the TCM under the valvebody and they are identical. 1000018769.jpg
