Maybe I'm a little bias coming from other ridiculous difficult platforms like the BMW MSD81, that has hundreds of tables and literally takes a few guys sifting through Hex tables and trying to link Load Based tables across code to get tables as an option, but I really have no idea why we don't have more basic options on the Hemi to contrl. Basic things like VVT settings, EFan setting should be more controllable like when it turns on/off not just a few set points and hope that it cools and doesn't burn up the fan etc. Honestly by now with the advanced controls that they have on other platforms I would at least like to see rear O2 codes disabled and conversion from Narrow Band to Wide Band O2 options.

With this note I'm also wondering how anybody can claim to be remote tuning without a Dyno and/or a Wideband O2 to set AFR's properly.

HPTuners also has a platform for these vehicles now. Certainly not as popular since they've only recently released support. But they do tend to be very responsive to questions/requests regarding tuning parameters.

The handheld itself isnt going to give you much control because Diablo knows that very few people know what they are doing, and you would see 1 blown motor after another if they gave the end user full control.

If you get a custom tune from someone with CMR, then there are hundreds of tables to modify. Everything you mentioned is available through custom tuning aside from changing the stock narrow band sensors to wideband. My personal truck ran 11.99 N/A with an emailed tune from Hemifever. My rear o2 sensors are deleted, and I have no engine lights in the dash. Wideband gauges are not needed for bolt on trucks as long as you get a tune from a reputable Hemi tuner. Hemifever has tuned so many thousand trucks now, that the tune profiles are very similar for the basic bolt on trucks. He will set a commanded air/fuel number which is generally pretty accurate.

I wish I could have used my 2014 tuner on my 15 but that's RAMs fault mostly, now I have a 700.00 CDN paperweight, funny thing is I never even loaded a tune. Other than checking my 0-60 (literally) I just chucked a bunch of money down the crapper.

You can still use the tuner. You just need the unlocked PCM which Diablo sells for $599. The tuner is the same for all Hemi trucks, you just need an unlocked PCM in order to use it on the 2015-2016 trucks.

Good to know, it would be nice if they had that listed somewhere. I'm the type that like to know everything that was modified in a tune that I run. As for the Wideband I wasn't concerned about the gauges but it makes remote tuning easier and if you convert the PCM code over to Wideband you can also convert it to run in a constant closed loop mode where you tell it what AFR you want. BMW does this and its great never having to worry about AFR's and Ethanol content. I can dump in normal 93 or a mix or 93 and E85 and it will always run as 12.x:1 or whatever I have it set for. Again I'm just surprised they haven't really unlocked it and reprogrammed things to bring it up to the technology that other platforms are running now, even other platforms can at least store multiple tunes and switch with a few flicks of the cruise control stick.

this I did not know and as I mentioned in a previous post somewhere I for the first time did an install on my truck (running boards) and installing the pcm is above my pay grade. Not only that but 600 USD converts to 800.00ish CDN so now I have invested 1400.00-1500.00 CDN for 25-30hp. If I spend 10,000.00 for a s/c and install I get a tuner in the package:favorites13:

The PCM install is pretty easy. I would rate it really easy if you did the running boards with no issues. It is 3 bolts and 2 wire clusters that you just lift tabs and pull.

Swapping the PCM is literally about a 10 minute job with nothing more than a 10mm socket and ratchet.
