You have identified the issue.... You need the correct dual plug switch PN from the 1st

i understand the switch is different, i would have assumed getting the corresponding harness to the switch would work, and it does everything except the rear windows. does anyone have a legitimate answer as to why it wont work?

i have received the vin# number for the donor truck and was able to look up on all-data for my truck and for donor truck to see wiring at door jam connectors, i found everything is the same pin out Except the rear window lockout on my truck only has 1 wire out and splits in floor harness to both rear doors. the donor truck shows a separate window lockout for each rear door. by looking at the wire diagrams it seams there should be no issues at all. i am wondering if the switch itself is bad, if i could check the new switch in a known working truck with single plug would help but i do not have access.

otherwise i assume i put my original door harnesses in and get the corresponding dual plug master switch and all should work fine? i am trying to not have to open my whole door up again.

Sorry if this info has been asked before. I know this is an older thread. I own a 2014 Ram 2500 Limited with factory tow mirrors. I currently have a 2016 Ram 3500 Limited in the shop with power folding tow mirrors and I sent the dealer the vin# to get part numbers for all of the items I will need to convert my 2014 2500 to power folding mirrors and none of the part numbers listed here match the ones that match this 2016 3500 vin#. I realize parts supersede to newer numbers. Is my thinking correct that all the parts from a 2016 that came with power folding mirror would be backwards compatible into my 2014 that did not offer this option when new? Both trucks are Limited and have the puddle lights and whatever else would be the top of the line options. If someone has recently done this conversion can you please post current part numbers thank you.

While I can't confirm any specific part numbers off the 2016, the 2016-18/classic 4th Gen power fold door modules and mirrors should be compatible.

(But as I recall the door switch for 13-14/maybe 15 trucks will be different vs the later trucks with a different connector)

>>> For others' reference,
... what's the 2016 's limited chrome capped , Auto Dim, power fold tow mirror part #'s on the truck now? (I never find those/had a VIN to use) ... And the 2 door modules?

I also recommend you send the 2016 VIN via message to @AllMoparParts.com (Benny) so he can verify the needed PNs for the upgrade. Dealers not used to this kind of stuff will often get you incorrect PNs.

PS : from the first few posts

I did not check the mirror part numbers as I plan to find those used based on the cost of new. I don't care if they are chrome or black. Here are the part numbers and current list price I was provided that match this 2016 Ram 3500 we have in the shop now. Our parts guy is very good and we order from him daily he but would not know what fits a vehicle where the option was not available when new. I did verify my 2014 is using a dual connector master switch.

Rt mirror
68416902AC
List 1350.00

Lt mirror

List 188.00

Lt door module

Saw that and updated the first post yesterday

PS: not sure if that was a typo in your prior post, but it looks like the updated door modules from the op for a 4dr truck are...
68286790AA
68286791AA

According to the parts person at my local dealer the number I posted he provided and said it is the number changed from 68110867AB (dual connector) to 68620451AA the numbers I posted for for modules matched a vin# we used from a 2016 Ram limited we had in the shop that day

Have a '19 Quad Cab with non power tow mirrors and looking to do this mod too. If I were to bring the part numbers and info from this thread to MY dealer, they would look at me like I have 2 heads.... Trying to digest all the great info here and might start this project soon. I already bought 2 mirrors, hope they are usable.

They might do it, but they'll make you pay dearly

The parts in this thread only apply to 13-18 4th Gen and 19-24 classic 4th Gen trucks.

Hopefully your 19 is a classic with 5 lug wheels
