So I was playing with the idea of being able to lock my fuel door, and not spend much money doing it. My idea is just a simple stainless steel security wire going from the fuel door just under the wheel well with a tiny padlock on it.
Now its not going to be safe from some the guy with the proper tools, but to the guy messing with your tank he will most likely pass your truck up and go onto the next. Especially if its at night.
Reason I got to thinking about this, I am cheap, and I also had someone pop the lock off my gas cap already so I can't justify buying a new cap and having the same thing done again.
I also do not want to buy something aftermarket as I like the gas door to be the same color as my truck, don't really dig the metal/stainless steel doors.
Any ideas?
