Do the 2 inch drop springs require additional components ?

Or can I just add them and be done. Really don't want to drop a lot of money in this truck appearance wise because I want to focus on performance but if I do something I would like to do it the right way first

I beg to differ. When I put my 2" drop springs in the rear, I was not happy with the fact that when you put your truck on a lift, the springs flap in the breeze because the factory shocks allowed the axle to drop the full factory length. Get some lowering SHOCKS as well to alleviate this problem.

Your welcome...:)

I have been running 2" drop springs on my 2014 cc for 6 months. Only other addition was a pair of airlift 1000 helper bags for when i have my motorcycle or other loads in the bed.

Handling or ride characteristics did not diminish in any way, but I didn't notice an improvement.

While underneath it last weekend, i noticed my rear sway bar is tilted down at an angle and my panhard bar is not parallel. To level the sways, I just bought hellwig adjustable endlinks 7961. To improve handling characteristics, I also bought hellwig 7709 rear sway bar. When I install, I will be drilling a higher mount hole for the panhard bar to get it back to parallel. I will report back on any impact these three things have for the ride and handling of the truck.

The simple answer is you can drop in just springs and be all set, but other components may be required to get that stable, planted feel...depending on how picky your preferences are.

You can just install the 2" springs with no ill effect to the handling or performance. If you want the best ride possible then you can spend the money to correct the geometry changes but it's not a must with only a 2" rear drop. The one I would do is the sway bar with adjustable endlinks but I recommend that on a stock truck as an upgrade over the OEM sway bar.

Pretty sure he means lowering shocks with the lowering springs.

Any link to the lowering shocks ? Really want to go this route if I can avoid an alignment ad all the rest of the components that's are needed to drop 2/4. I have found four inch shocks but not 2 inch for the rear

at 2 inch rear drop, stay with factory shocks

I don't agree but to each his own... :favorites13:

I used the 4" drop shocks with My 2" rear lowering springs. Rides like a charm.

Installed hellwig 7709 rear sway and 8-11" adjustable endlinks 7961 this weekend. Also drilled a new hole in the track bar mount to reach parallel. definitely more confidence inspiring if you take a spirited turn, but otherwise doesn't seem to have made a big difference in handling characteristics (good or bad) for normal driving.

The track bar and sway bar both were only off by about 1" from my 2" drop, so definitely not enough to necessitate the changes I made like the 4" drop would require.

If you don't mind, what are your front measurements from ground to fender? And what tire size. I'm running the Crown 1" springs as well, curious how close we are.

I've got the factory goodyears on it still. I'll check the measurements when I get home.

How does it ride? Any harsher than stock in the front w/ the Crown springs? Also do you have any other pics w/ it lowered 1"/2"

No, it rides better than stock. Still smooth as silk but much firmer...if that makes sense. I'll see what I can dig up as far as picture. :favorites13:

Does the truck have to be supported to disconnect the track bar? To drill a new hole to level it out? Thx
