Yeah, I kinda ripped off a movie line. Anyhow, I am considering de-badging & shaving. It looks fairly simple. Hit me back with your pros & cons. What are the recommended tools?

Fishing line and a rubber eraser wheel will get the job done for de-badging

Fishing line in sawing motion to get badges off and like stated above the easiest way to get the residue off is with an eraser wheel

I can't tell from my phone if this is a 3rd Gen or 4th Gen topic. But if it's 4th. You can't take the ram head off the tailgate without leaving holes.

So far no one has mentioned a heat gun or Goo Gone. Just saw them off with fishing line and use an eraser wheel to pull the glue?

It's a 3rd Gen. Didn't get a Ram head on the rear. I got an eraser wheel this afternoon. Nailed me for $30. I could use some tips on how to use it. Don't want to mar the paint.

The eraser wheel is a little pricey but when you are done you will fine it money well spent. Lol. Plus it will last a long time and can be used elsewhere

For use just apply constant pressure and keep it moving around the adhesive. It would be really hard to screw up the paint

Eraser wheel. 20 bucks shipped from amazon. Not even worth a try with goo gone or adhesive remover..

Haha, well it's a 3rd gen topic.

I'll just go somewhere else now.

OK. Not B&A shots. Kinda during. I'd be done with the shave but the stupid battery died on my drill. PITA. The Badges came right off. 20# test fishing line and a sawing motion. Easy. The same for the eraser wheel, the adhesive takes very little effort to remove. I do need some guidance on completing the removal. After the badges and adhesive are removed there appears to be some ghosting left in the paint. I picked up some polishing compound (Turtle wax) and a drill attachment (3M Scratch Removal System). Am I going in the right direction?

Done

yep, that compound should help to remove the ghosting

Damn Skippy that stuff worked. :) De-Badge complete (had my windows tinted to 20% too). Moving on to the Efan install tomorow. Ya, I know I said I'd do it a couple of weeks ago. Gimme a break. I was researching a 2/4 drop, anda gear kit, anda new stereo (installed already), anda head/taillight kit (HID or not to HID), anda set of lights behind the grill. Oh yeah, the "After" pics are below. This was fun. Expect a ton of silly questions when I do my drop.
