Any potential problem can be fixed for the right amount. If the rest of the truck is in good shape and its priced to give you room for potential issues then go nuts. If its already overpriced then obvious the risk isn't worth it. No way we can judge from the info given.

No way to tell with the limited info given.
Personally, I wouldn’t purchase a vehicle that exhibits codes.

You should be concerned about any code. I'd never buy a vehicle that has a check engine light on. If it was an easy fix the owner/dealer would have fixed it. THey will try to pass it off as simple part to replace.

Code P0871 indicates a "Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch C Circuit Range/Performance"
Factor in you may need to have the transmission rebuilt.

So what tranny is in this 2015 6.4l gasser?

The garbage one. IMO, it's worth the money to go for 2019+ to get the ZF 8 speed. Its a better driving experience and it's significantly more durable. In half tons the 6 speed is fine, but drive an HD back to back with each and you'll throw rocks at the 6 speed one.
