Our '48 DeSoto, which we've owned for 76 years, just recently had a battery die, now it needs brakes and a muffler, the chrome is peeling off the bumpers, and the heated steering wheel never worked. Brought it to the dealer and they said it was out of warranty. I will never buy a Chrysler, FCA, or Stellantis product again!!

2019 Ram 1500 Billet Silver Laramie Quad Cab 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, 8HP75, 3.21 axle, 33-gallon fuel tank, 18” wheels. Build Date: 3 June 2018. Now at 129353 miles.
By all means get the heated steering wheel fixed - how can you survive without a heater steering wheel?

The new 2025 hurtmecane motors no dipstick. Sensor run in u connect evic.
I'd call that operator error - the customer bought a truck that didn't have an oil dipstick.

Look guys I sympathize with you (slightly) when an electrical part that was designed to replace a more reliable and simpler mechanical part fails. The only thing that is certain is those electrical parts WILL fail sooner or later, and so if you bought a truck that didn't have an oil or transmission dipstick SHAME ON YOU for being stupid in the first place. Quit buying junk and sooner or later the manufacturers will stop making it.

Personally I would be hesitant to buy any car or truck manufactured after 2015. I currently own 2004 and 2009 Rams. The oil dipstick hasn't failed on either of them yet.

Not sure that I would classify that as "operator error"... the OP needed a truck and bought one that they likely assumed would be a good one. It's not really the fault of the operator if the MFG builds it a certain way. The expectation should be that if it was omitted, it wasn't required and should function properly without it.

It's not realistic to think that everyone should buy a truck that's already at least 10 years old and try to keep it on the road. Not everyone is mechanically inclined, though I do think people should at least attempt to have a basic mechanical understanding of the machine they're operating.

It's kind of a "rock and a hard place" situation for a lot of customers.

Slow your roll there chief. I seriously doubt the average car or truck buyer checks to see if a vehicle they are looking at has an oil or transmission dipstick. Blaming the buyer for a car makers shortfall is ludicrous. This is a forum and the topic of the lack of a dipstick has been discussed in multiple threads. And most members here probably know about it. But the vast majority of the buying public probably has no idea the Hurricane engines don’t have a dipstick. You might want to ease up a little.

so anyone that buys a new car or truck is stupid?
'stupid' in the 'sense' that when we buy these new tech trucks for $60k - $90k expecting quality when we are really supporting inequality.

Inequality because they cost more, are less reliable and much more co$tly to fix apart from warranty.

Even with warranty, many owners are frustrated with numerous trips to the dealership for repeating and/or ongoing repairs.

RAM, Chevy/GMC, Ford, Toyota are all producing problematic trucks

Here's where I get kicked out of this forum: I don't agree with what you wrote. If I had called a PERSON stupid, that'd be one thing; but what I called stupid was an ACTION, which is another thing altogether. Calling a person stupid is a personal insult, and I would expect anyone doing that in this forum would be kicked out immediately.

But that's not what I wrote.

See, think of the caveman who invented fire. As soon as he got it going, he probably saw the pretty flames and stuck his hand into them and got burned. Now that was a stupid ACTION, but he learned to keep his hand outta the fire.

Later when his son got old enough he might have told him, "Now Li'l Clem, don't stick your hand in that fire, that'd be STUPID." And if Clem (who in this narrative has an I.Q. of 195 and is therefore definitely NOT stupid) did it anyway he might then say "See there Clem stickin' yer hand in the fire is STUPID."

And so, since I was referring to an action and not a person, I'll stick with what I wrote in the first place: In my opinion, buying a car or truck without at least lifting the hood and asking about it ("Hey, where's the dipstick?") is stupid.

If a person doesn't know enough about trucks, engines, and other related topics, they could always find an honest mechanic and ask that person about the truck. Of course, finding an 'honest mechanic' these days is sorta like finding the Loch Ness monster, or a woman who doesn't talk too much: There have been reported sightings, but so far none have been confirmed.

And so in closing, I hope I don't get kicked off this forum for disagreeing with a moderator, but if I do, oh well. I will never knowingly insult someone personally, but I will also not stop expressing my opinions. And my opinion is, Li'l Clem shouldn't buy a car or truck that doesn't have a dipstick because that'd be STUPID.

Seems that some of the participants here can't keep track of who said what or they offer up their interpretation of what has been written, then blame another person for typing it.

Keep it civil, gents. We don't want to start issuing warnings or bans.
