No the do mean Weld, they would weld only one of the 2 nuts, this would still allow it to be adjusted but I still wouldn’t allow them to pull that crap on my truck.
I also agree there most likely isn’t a problem at all except they aren’t torqued correctly from the factory. I can tell you mine were barely more than hand tight from the factory. When I installed my lift, I was expecting a fight to break loose those huge nuts, I put the wrench on and the weight of the wrench was enough to loosen them.

That is really bad. I'm going to go check mine today now and mark `em. My steering wheel has been perfectly centered from day 1 and the steering feels tight so I doubt mine are loose but they are worth checking.

I think you are right. My hope is that having the 2500 and up trucks out of that horrible Mexico assembly plant. We will see less of the this type of ignorance.

"Horrible Mexico Plant?" From all of the Dodge Models I have looked at over the last 6 or 7 years, the Ram HD's out of Mexico have had superior fit & finish over American made models. There have been several recalls on my 2016 2500 but I do not recall any of those being assembly issues. They appear to be design flaws. The leak from marker lights & 3rd brake light would be the only one I am aware of. Sounds like they torque them too much or not enough.

I agree. Seems most recall these days are just flashes and updates. Zero issue with that. Leaky 3rd brake lights everybody suffers from that I believe. I have zero issues with recalls keep em coming. Means they never stop and always making better. Just my .02

I have a 2014 3500 dually diesel 4x4, there is a lot of weight on those front tires, and steering components... as the cummins by itself weighs around 1100 pounds. I love my truck, but this makes 13 recalls for this thing. Going to check that link tomorrow after seeing this thread. Mines already on the lift, so it will be easy to see.

How many were just flashes? I don’t even count those as a recall. **** my iPhone updates more than that lol

My 2018 has blue line marker. My dealer checked and marked on delivery prep.

I've seen a few reports on other forums where guys have taken their trucks in to the dealer for this. So far all they are doing is adding locktite and torquing it down, no welding. Dealers reported no "fix" yet so that seems to be what they are doing in the mean time.

I was at the dealer yesterday. The Service advisor said they would Weld the Nut. I told him I am not interested in that and he was understanding.

That's the first report I have heard from a dealer that was going to weld it. Everyone else that has gone in reported they just torqued and lock tighted it?

Looks like the have a fix in the way of a new drag link now. Not sure how available the parts are though?

I had heard both before going to the dealer. I will wait for a better repair.

Simply hard to believe that "any" dealer would weld the jam nut. How do you align the steering wheel after that.

Looks like the have a fix in the way of a new track bar now. Not sure how available the parts are though?

The track bar has nothing to do with this recall. Maybe a complete new drag link?

Not available yet in Knoxville, TN. Had the other 3 or 4 done 2 weeks ago and they said I gotta wait on this one as there's no parts yet. He didn't mention if they checked/tightened mine. Now that I read this today, I'll be under her tomorrow. [emoji57]
