Yesterday while driving on the freeway around a right hand curve I started to hear a loud thumping noise coming from the driver side wheel well. The best way I can describe the noise is like a flat spot on a tire or a flat tire forming.
Everytime I turn the wheel to the right and am driving more then about 40 MPH, I can hear a thumping noise. The tires don't rub, so I can rule that out. The tires don't have flat spots or and are all inflated.
I am sitting on a 7 inch lift and have Zone upper control arms which have been installed for more than 20,000 miles.
I am thinking it either is the ball joints on the upper control arms, or the wheel bearings are shot. Im at about 75,000 miles on the truck so I thought it might be a little early for wheel bearings to be no good.
Does anyone have any suggestions? And if it is the wheel bearings, does anyone have recommendations for heavy duty wheel bearings or higher quality ones?
