2025 Ram Longhorn Limited with 3k miles. The drivers side power running board got broken of. Long story, my stupidity.
The dealer, Stephan Wade Chrysler, in St. George UT quoted me $1532.58 to repair.
The running board, motor and torquerod are all undamaged. Only the cast alloy hinge was broken. The dealer said the hinges and motor only come as an assembly, and the alloy hinges (which act as a breakaway weak point) cannot be bought separately. The motor has it's own part#, as do the hinges. The dealer says they will only sell as an assembly. He also cautioned about doing the repair myself, as the motor needs to be paired with the main computer.
I cant find the alloy hinges as an aftermarket part, so I guess I'll go have to the dealer.
Has anyone done this repair DIY? Are the parts available online anywhere? I'd hate to just throw that basically new motor in the trash.
Thanks, Bo.
