I used OBDGenie in order to turn on DRLs (before I knew about AlfaOBD), this uses the turn signals as DRLs, and causes the DRL on the respective side to drop out when a turn signal is used.

What I'd like to do is have DRLs work just like turning on running lights does, marker lights essentially.

Playing around with AlfaOBD, the choices for DRLs are Optional (which OBDGenie uses), Canadian DRLs and a bunch of European DRLs. The DRL lamp location dropdown shows high breams, low beams, turn signals, fog lights etc, but nothing for marker lights.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone here has played around with the DRLs in AlfaOBD and knows what all the choices are?

Alfaobd give you the same options. Marker lights or parking lights should be useless for DRL because they are not that bright.

As mentioned the running lights would be sorta useless for DRLs and not an available option. The DRL drop-out is also optional and can be disabled.
AlfaOBD also gives the option for Dedicated DRLs if you have or want to use aftermarket headlights with separate DRLs. For trucks originally with Quads you would need to add wiring but this is how I have my Modifystreet headlights wired.

FYI .. Canadian DRL use the highbeam at half voltage in the quad headlights.. with the projector lights they use the front marker lights. ( they are bright enough for what they need to do)
