As soon as I saw the title, I knew Weed would be the man to answer it!

Weed, what do you think about Greg's statement that the 200a isolator won't carry the load for the starter?

George, i said that because the way a RV is wired is to seperate the two batteries keeping the Main battery from being run down so it remains available to start the vehicle. But if you have a 750cca battery it seems to me that 200a isn't going to cut it. But like I said the Aux battery isn't used to start the vehicle so it is not a problem.

I just went and looked at how I did my boat. The accessories in question (amp, extra lights, cb. etc) get wired to the second battery to keep the first from being run down. The second battery is isolated from the starting battery.

Well im the most impatient mother bleep you will ever know . I went ahead and installed them like weeds till the isolator comes in . Ran everything like the winch , amps ect to the reserve side and left the other just for operating . My CTD battery box is not in yet so u put it in the OEM air box and strapped it in for now . I also ordered a intake like weeds .

As I said in your other thread, the last one I wired up for a buddy, he was too cheap to buy the isolator. He's yet to have any problems starting BUT unlike you, he uses his truck every day.

The first important job of the isolator is to not drain the cranking battery and use the 2nd battery for accessories.
Second, all batteries have a different potential voltage so this means if two batteries are connected together without using an isolator the batteries would actually drain each other until they are both completely discharged (two completely dead batteries). Since each battery would have a different potential voltage they would push and pull on each until there is no energy left. This is where the relay comes into play; the relay will ONLY connect the two batteries together when triggered to the “ON” position (while the car is running). So when the relay is switched “OFF” the batteries are disconnected and no energy will be flowing between them (when the car is off). This potential problem is greater with vehicles that sit idle longer.

Because you are starting out with two identical, brand new batteries, I think you'd be fine running them without the isolator as 'Weed does for a while, but I'd plan on the isolator as a relatively inexpensive insurance policy some time in the near future...

I wish I knew you were ready to pull the trigger. You could have had my intake for free for the shipping (needs new filters though). You know I just finished my custom PCV intake.

Weed, that's a good looking pipe... Althrough the filter might need a bit of protection. Maybe a nice custom shoud??

Yeah, still working on it really. Ive got a airram scoop to go on the front still but gotta move my air horns over. Also trying to fab a shroud for it at work but there just is not enough time in one day (or even a week) for everything I need to get finished. :(

I've got the passenger side tray, the 2 gauge wire and even bought the second battery. I just have to physically cut my hood under the scoop. Re-routing my CAI is about a 30 minute thing.
I guess I could re-route where you have yours, but for me, I think it's a bad spot. I might get water up to that point if I'm hog hunting and it's wet in the low country...

LMAO!!! Yeah except I have two issues with that. One, I won't go any higher on the IFS front. Even if I do a body lift so it won't effect front end components, then I gotta fab brackets for the grill guard because it has to be frame mounted for the winch. This also means hacking the bumper. Ain't going thru all that.

Also, I'm about vertical when I load the four wheeler in the bed now, I really don't want the bed any higher. Also, it's a royal pain lifting heavy **** into and out of the bed now.

Other than that, it would be a good solution, LOL...

Nah, I'm going to make the scoop functional and re-route the CAI into it. Freeing up that passenger side. I just need the time and another set of hands to help me get the hood off and then back on. Things will be slowing down at the golf course in another month and I'll be about laid off. I'll be going to Georgia where I'll have the help to get this done...
