I just did a Double Din dvd player install. Everything works, powers up etc. However, when I turn off the ignition and remove the key the thing stays on. I have waited and waited and still on. I can power it down holding the power button, and then it turns off. If I press the power on though it wont turn off. Its almost like a power delay? Not sure. Any thoughts?

How long are you waiting? Did you open the door after you turned the truck off? There is a roughly 30 second delay by fault or if you open the door before the 30 second.

Double check your power and accessory wires. If those are good try throwing the factory radio in and check that it powers down. What radio are you replacing? Ra1 3.0 or ra2 5.0? What radio are you installing

Does it go off when you open the door?

Are the sure the two power wire are hooked up correctly. Yellow to Yellow, red to red, one is constant and the other is aux maybe you got them backwards for some reason.

It sound like a power issue to me. It seems you are on a constant power not the aux. It could be a problem with the axxess harness. The easy way to find out is un hook the yellow and red connection between the axxess harness and the head unit. They run a jumper from the factory red and yellow to the head unit. IF it turns off when you open your door then you know your problem is with the harness.

there is NO accessory on the factory harness. its canbus controlled hence the reason you need the module. the canbus system in these truck tell the radios when to turn on and off.

sounds like a bad module to me.

The radio worked fine before. Does anyone know if I can bypass that module with the red wire only? The place I got it from wants me to buy a new one. Get ra # for old one. Return it. Etc. just trying to avoid uninstalling completely and starting over.

I was just thinking of finding the red power wire before it hits the new harness. Cut it and splice it to the red wire going into the dvd player. This would bypass that module. I just dont want to hurt the deck. Not sure what that module does.

like i said before the truck has NO switched power at the radio its controlled through the canbus system.

the module converts the canbus signal to "usable" sources for the radio (12+ switched, reverse trigger, speed sense, e-brack signal)

NO you CANNOT do what you wanted. there is NO accessory wire at the harness. you either have to get it from a different location in the truck or deal with returning the module you got.
