I have a 2010 Trx 2wd single cab. I do not go off roading. Just simply drive to school and back! Right now, I have 275/70/17 load range E that came on the truck. I'm looking to get some 315/70/17s or 35x12.5.. My problem is that most tires in those sizes are load range D.. Can somebody explain if it matters if I get load range D?
I do not haul of tow anything..

Also, any opinions on retreads?

If you don't tow anything or carry heavy loads, load range D is more than enough for what you will be doing.

You only really need E rated tires once you get into the payload ranges that are in 3/4 and 1 ton models. Most 1/2 tons are using either passenger rated or D range tires. Since you haul very little, a D range tire will do you fine.

As to retreads, most will tell you to not even deal with it but 99% of the issue with retreads is know who the actual company is that does it and what their reputation is. I know a local utility company that uses nothing but retreads with very little problems but they are setup to recover themselves if they do have a premature failure. Have to weigh the pro's and con's for yourself.

E load range tires are used when you tow loads a lot. If you aren't towing a trailer or really loading up the bed close to max payload all the time, you won't need them. D range tires are more than sufficient for your use.
