What could cause a vibration on these tires at 60-70 mph? They were just balanced when installed a week ago.

I've decided to give up on the Duratracs.
But now I can't make up my mind between the
Cooper ST Maxx in a 295/70/18 or
Falken Wildpeak A/T3W in a 285/75/18

I have the st maxx some have said poor tire life. Mine are only 5k old but still quiet and very near 0 wear. They look good and on the snow and mudd so far no complaints.

Id get the coopers. They are a bit more aggressive than the Falkens. And i like cooper.

I had the Cooper ST Maxx in the 255/80R17 and I was glad to get rid of them.
I have used a lot of Cooper tires in the past and the Winter master studded was an excellent snow tire.
As far as I was concerned the ST Maxx was the worst Cooper tire I had ever purchased for a studded snow,
emailed Cooper about them never did get a response.
I went with Nokia LT studded snows a much better snow tire in my opinion.
The Maxx was a luggy open tire if you wanted to spin and sling mud it would be a good tire for that.

Today was definitely the last straw with the Duratracs. The vibration is so bad the mirror shakes. I’ve decided to just put the Kelly Edge tired back on.

I can’t believe 45 on a 2500. In the front. WOW.

Im doing 40psi in the front on my 2500 with a cummins but Im running oversize tires, load rating is still 5600lbs total for the front

To the OP sounds like the deal was too good to be true, its a shame.

I run 50 now in the front tires and 40 in the rear. I would be afraid to run less than that. My 2500 HD is still a rough ride. 265/70/17, what is your size and do they flex a lot? Thanks

37x13.5r20 No flex problems, with those size tires you don't have much room to go down in pressure.

As mentioned above the toyo tire load charts are a great reference point.

I run 285/75/18 (stock is 275/70/18) so basically a 35x12x18 iirc, some minor flexing in the sidewall but not much, not much different then when at 60, that’s running 45 on the front, with a 3500 Cummins (still the same front axle and setup as a 2500 in the front end, only change is heavier rear frame and leaf springs) this was takin with the tires at 45 and set to 60 in the rear being I was pulling a trailer

Thanks for the information. Really appreciate all of it. Down to 50 in front and 40 rear. I may go down to 45 in the front and keep an eye on it. Love the snow picture.

Update: Putting the old tires on definitely helped with the squishy feeling and the vibration. Now I’m dealing with a pull to the right which was there with the duratracs too. I had the alignment done after I put new shocks and springs on and that’s when it started pulling to the right. Had them recheck and they showed it good still. The only other variable I can think of is I put new pads and rotors on as well.

Go to the Web Site and look at the Alignment Spec's in the Tech section.

And provide them to the alignment shop and tell em to set your truck up using those specs.

There is an axle adjustment spec on there that is very important. Sorry I can't think of what it is right off...but that particular setting has been found off on several trucks and was causing an issue. Search for the threads on that topic and I'm sure it'll come up. Some posts have pictures of the setting so you can check your truck. Good luck
