Hey guys...
Been browseing around and have noticed many of us have discussed the ecu flashing for our trucks...Has anyone done a vid on how its done,software used and where the tune info comes from....


Lately i have been watching some vids from brocks performance on motorcycle ecu tuning and his vids are very detailed showing as he is doing dyno runs and results..

Anyone doin something the same so we all can see when either hemi fever or jay greene ect are tuning and results....

Here is a example of a brocks vid..



I know ya cant do all what brock is showing without being on the dyno but before either tuner sends out their tune,where does info come from to know its working better or its just more noise ect..

The tuning is done with a programmer, such as one provided by Diablosport, and they include what are referred to as "canned tunes" with the programmer. There are also owner selected options you can set such as tire size, remove the speed limiter, etc...that can be done with the programmer.

You can also use those programmers as the basis for a custom tune on a dyno or, even better, a custom tune written for your own truck from the logs you capture using the programmer while driving your truck. The processes are similar but the custom tune by email is much cheaper than a dyno tune.

You email those logs to a tuner such as Hemifever, he customizes a tune for you, sends it back and you use the programmer to load that custom tune to your truck, much as you did to load one of the original "canned tunes". You might log a time or two more and send him the logs so he can tweak the tune a bit more. The results I got from his custom tune for my 6.4L Hemi powered 2500 were a real eye opener on just what you can get out of a stock motor with the right tuning.

So as far as where the info comes from to tweak the tune, well, it comes from the base tune on the programmer and your own truck's performance logs.

Thats the stuff i am interested in knowing what changes work,as in were they tested on a stock ram to see if hf or jg changes were worth it or wasted..Where and how does the final result come from...Are they educated changes and hope for the best or were they tried and tested on a dyno kinda info for us guys just buying them..

Being as your a Canuck,there's a very good e-mail tuner in Canada you can check with,and I think he has a remote tuner in your area.He's tuning the fastest Rams in Canada these days,and is every bit as good as Jay or Sean,and has probably been tuning longer then both combined,lol.I got talked into trying out Jay last summer,after 7 revisions and Jay wasn't even getting close to making my truck run as fast as Chris had it running,i wrote off the 1100 bucks Canuck it cost me to have Jay tune it,and went back to Chris at Player 3 and my truck is back to running it's old numbers at the track.If you contact Chris you can use my name if you want,Rick Wildman

TKS wildone for the info...$1100 to tune your ram jesus man....Didnt think he charged for his revisions..You must have made changes to your truck along the way..

Again im not getting the answer im searching.....Rather than just watching some random dude getting some dyno #'s i was hopeing to find a vid of some getting an actual tune and seeing the progression as the tune changes for the good..Yes you can lean and richen for power or also play with timeing to do the same but to see the process as to what he did to get said #'s and if it worked well or was a waste of time..
