Hello. I bought a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic last June - first Dodge/Ram ever out of my 60+ vehicles since I got my license in 1979..... guess that makes me old.
Numerous times (6 or 7)since I got this truck, the screen in the center of the dash - radio, climate control, apps, etc. has went black for no reason, radio stops working, never noticed if the climate control stopped working. Last week, the stereo volume went wide open by itself as I was driving - louder than the 38 max volume you can control with the volume knob or steering wheel controls. At max volume, the stereo stills sounds good (for a factory stereo), but when this happened it sounded like a $25.00 Kraco stereo with a good 250 watt Kenwood amp and the cheapest 10 watt speakers you could ever buy - just a loud noise that scared the s&^% out of me-LOL, and I love loud music. The stereo stayed that way - I could turn it down with the volume knob, but had turn the knob until volume was at 0 before the noise stopped, but as soon as I tried to turn the volume up it went immediately to wide open, and was like that until I stopped the truck, shut the key off and let it sit for a minute. When I restarted the truck, all was back to normal. This ever happen to anybody else?? I never called the dealer yet with my issues - most service advisors usually say "never heard of that problem before". I worked at new car dealers for 20 years, but 95% of that time was in the parts department. In some instances that statement is true, as every problem that occurs with a vehicle has to start somewhere. so I thought I would ask on here to see if anyone has similar issues? thanks in advance for any input received.
