While Im good with bodywork and suspension and electronics, Im not so good with engines. My truck lost a race to a Camaro with 180hp and 2.73 gears, so my belief that it is down on power is somewhat justified. I just saw a post about someone with an issue that could be related so Im going to keep my eye on that, but here is a clip of my truck we filmed for a recent project.

(never used this before, hopefully the quality doesnt suck)

That is not the sound a V8 with a 3" exhaust should make, Im thinking that this may be related to the power loss. Even if it isnt, it is an annoying sound that I would like to remove. Would someone who is more adept with engines be able to explain what is causing that howling/whining noise?

Yes it does, its not anything on the driveline, its the engine. It it varies with engine RPM and sounds almost like a supercharger whine.

Perhaps a vacuum leak. Are the vacuum hose connected to the manifold on the drivers side just behind the Throttle Body? Has it back fired possible cracking the manifold?
