Hello all! First time post. I own a 2006 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi. The engine started shutting down going down the road. I had the cam and crank sensors replaced twice and it is still shutting down. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, and what did you do fix this? Thanks in advance for any help

Pull the codes and clear them
Sometimes the sensors can be faulty
Just return it and get a new ones

Add to the list checking for corrosion on the TIPM (black box in front of the battery).

Thanks guys. I’ll check on those. As far as the wiring harness connections. Where should I check? Which ones? Also, where would the corrosion be on the TIPM?

Does it shut off when coasting/ making a slow turn? Or is it random at speed?

What brand of sensor did you use when you replaced the cam and crank sensors?

How long has it been since you replaced both of them?

Is the check engine light on? Have you had a scan tool connected to the truck to see if any DTC's have been set?

I had the exact same symptoms on my '01 Dakota about 5 years ago, steadily growing worse over time. No codes were ever set. After firing a bunch of parts at it, including both crank and cam sensors, it turned out to be a bad ECM. There was a crack in the circuit board and every time it shut down the memory got wiped, hence the no codes. The dealer wanted $800 plus labor for a reman ECM. I bought one from a place in Florida pre-programed for the truck & shipped overnight for $300. It was still running fine when I sold the truck a few years later.
