I need some help!!! I have a 2016 RAM Big Horn with 22,500 miles. I've started hearing this squeaking sound after the engine has been running for a while. It does not make the sounds during a cold start. I've tried the water test on the belt but the squeak does not go away. I will mention that it does not do this all the time. Have an appointment with Dodge this weekend and my luck it will not make the sound. Any ideas?

I have this exact problem on my 2500 6.4. I have tried for a long time to figure out where it's coming from without throwing parts at it. I did take the belt off and let it run for about a minute and never heard it. All pulleys turn smoothly. Only thing I can think of is the tensioner. It's just so random and sounds different some times. Very frustrating.

I had a similar noise with my 6.4. The dealer threw a new belt on and it seems to have gone away. Yours clearly sounds like a bearing (metallic) to me.

Definitely an idler /belt tensioner pulley. Both are fairly cheap and very easy to replace, literally a 10 minute job and that includes drinking a beer in between removing the old one and putting on the new one. I would start with the belt tensioner firt personally.

Kinda sounds like water pump pulley/bearing starting to go out in my opinion. I have gotten noises like that at work and its always the water pump. Take the belt off and wiggle the pump pulley, see if you feel any play and spin it by hand. They dont always leak coolant when they start to go bad but will make noise.
