Hey yall,
New to the forum but browsed it often.

I've got a 99 Ram with a 5.9l 360. I have a Durango with the exact same engine but is upgraded with a whole list of things like a crane cam, a Hughes intake, hardened push rods, crane roller rocker arms etc. I can list all if necessary .

At over $1200 I can't afford to pay someone to swap it for a few months. My questions are concerning the wiring harness. Since it'll go from stock to a upgraded that pushes around 360hp will it "relearn" the new config? Both have same auto trans and both are 4x4. They'll both bolt in exactly the same but are there any wiring issues anyone can think of ?
Any other tips when doing this swap?

I've heard the ECU needs to be reflashed and I've heard it'll be okay. Included was a hypertech tuner but it's got a corrupt flash memory.
Do I need to get a new tuner to fully take advantage of it's capabilities?

I'm pretty sure the engines will swap just fine, I believe the harnesses are the same but I don't know much about Durangos, maybe somebody else will chime in. As far as the tuner if it has a corrupt flash memory then I would spend the money and get a better tuner like SCT so you can get custom tunes for the diff cam, intake, RR's, etc.

For tips on swapping, idk if you plan on taking off the hood but I never had to when I swapped motors over. Just have to pay attention that's all. Other than that everything was a piece of cake for me.

If it were mine, I'd just swap the 'Rango PCM as I don't seem to remember that there was anything different on it.

Durangos are much more like the Dakotas, so I'm pretty sure there will be some differences to the Ram, since it's a smaller size. Probably motor mounts, and you'll likely need it flashed. But I've been wrong before, I'll be wrong again!
