Exended warranty after buying the truck

Where's the best place to buy one, any place particular? Can I negotiate at all or is that only during the initial purchase? I've looked at the maximum care vs added care and don't really see too much of a need go maximum. I'm just trying to see if I can save any money any way.

Hi Iczer,
I know that Chrysler sells one but I don't know what the various options are. I bought one when I bought my truck and on the one hand I like the security it gives me. What I don't like is that I can't make any performance mods or I void my extended warranty. So for now I make it look the way I want and in 5 more years I can start playing with that Hemi.

Definitely can be negotiated. I paid 2300 for lifetime max care. Chrysler tried to sell me it for $3400. Only negative about mine is it can't be transferred. Plan on keeping the truck for a very long time. At least till I break something that pays for the warranty. It's my first brand new truck. It's also why my performance mods end with just an exhaust.

I found the Mopar Vehicle Protection: Extended Warranties from Chrysler. SAVE 60%! Quick Quotes. Buy Online. that I've seen others talk about and got a quote for lifetime maxcare for $2,390 and 12 month interest free financing I believe too.

I'm just at close to 9800 miles so I might hop on something like this soon. I've just got the exhaust but have thought about a tuner, so I know that'd be out of the question unforunately.

I got mine through coverage one.is got some good features.rental cars,hotel rooms stuff like that.around 3 k Canadian . my truck was 2 years old and around 50 k when I topped it up.

The previous posts pretty much have it covered. I'm in the exact same boat as Jerry1984 - Lifetime warranty and don't plan doing anything but maybe an exhaust system someday. To make it pay off you must keep the truck for a long time and not want to chip/mod the truck.

I think I paid around $2300. As I remember the finance weasel started around 4K and that wasn't even for the Lifetime. Bottom line is DON'T BUY ANYTHING in the finance office at the dealership. You have up to 12mo/12K miles to get the exact same deal. Realistically, you have until your bumper to bumper warranty expires but I think there may be a surcharge for some reason once you get past 12/12. Also, there are some cool thinks like rental cars during service/repair that kick in immediately.

And you can buy the warranties from any dealer in the nation and it's the same thing. Just be sure it's a genuine Mopar/Chrysler/Ram warranty and not some aftermarket junk. Aftermarket warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on. Genuine Mopar gets you service/repair at any dealership nationwide.

There is a dealer in MA who sells extended warranties for like $100 over their cost, I leveraged them on my Toyota warranty a few years ago. I read recently someone getting their Ram extended warranty through them.

This made my Toyota dealer mad as hell but I said look you can make $100 on this warranty or you can make $0 it makes no difference to me, he caved and sold me the warranty for the same price. lol

I bought extended warranties from Ziegler for my 04 Ram with CAI, Headers, Exhaust and Tuner. No issues having warranty work done.

Ram sends me discounted warranty letters monthly. I had it on my 13 Lone Star crew since it had the 8.4 radio and a lot more electronics. Now I have a 14 express I already have plans on selling it in 2016 for something else and only put 8k a year on my trucks so I am not worried about it. If you have a loaded truck and plan to keep it I would get one. Just watch the mail they come all the time and are usually negotiable on the price.

I'm also from Canada, how long was this for 5 years/100000 km? Dealer quoted me 1800 and 2800 difference being included oil changes, tire rotations/repair and rental vehicle.

I bought mine online from a dealer in Rhode island, I think.....did a search and find the best price.a lot of dealers sell warranties online at a discount.
I bought the second tier policy for 100,000 miles for seven years with a$200 deductible for a tad over $800

Amen... They had quoted me something like $4000 last year - crazy rip-off.


Because of the 8-speed and NAV, I'm still considering buying the extended warranty. I'll most likely buy from Zeigler - they still have the best price I could find at $2300.

as long as you can show to them that its coming from another dealer online most dealers will match it.

they know they are marked up and hope to get the most for them
