With limited mods, I think you would be better off with the single. A properly setup dual exhaust is very hard to beat, but it is also expensive. With an engine that is not modded heavily, the cost most likely will not justify the gains.

If you decide to go with the single setup, I would grab a Magnaflow Y-pipe, then throw a 3" cutout on the back of the y-pipe, and then single 3" back to an 18" or 24" Magnaflow muffler. The longer the muffler the quieter it will be, so I would probably go with the 24". You will have all the noise you want when you flip the switch on that cutout.

Just measured, the space of room, only about 8 inches long, where they took my glasspacks off and replaced them with the straight pipes is 2 1/4 inches. The rest of the piping going to the cats is 3 inches though... I thought 3 was alot for a truck that's basically stock? I think I'm gonna go back to a y pipe. So, magnaflow y pipe to a... 3 inch cutout (or have them change all the pipe to 2.5?)to a single in dual out 18' magnaflow 3' to tips. How's that?

Yeah, dual 3" piping is HUGE for your setup. You want to go 2.5" from the cats to the Y-pipe...then 3" off the y-pipe to the cutout, and then 3" from there to the muffler.

Yesterday ordered a magnaflow y pipe, an 18 inch single in dual out maggie muffler, AND a 3' Raceland cutout. I'm ready for some switch n blast ;)

Taking it to the shop to get an estimate tomorrow for my new setup. Thinking about running dual turndowns before the axle... Anyone have a suggestion for a guy like me who wants as much ground clearance as possible?

Put the cutout safari back as possible. Keeps some backpressure and lessens the drone in the cab. Mine is right before the muffler almost at the rear axle.

Alright. I could care less about drone though, I have straights right now lol so I'm used to it. Still not sure about turndowns though

I have a turn down on the cutout on mine and the rest is dumped over the axle. Angle it slightly to the side if you put one on to help with the pulse affect you get pointing straight down.

Hmmm I'm gonna be keeping my duals. But turning down the pipes before the axle would give me more ground clearance on trails and stuff, right?
