Is that a genuine factory warranty (like maxcare)? If so, you might wanna double check that 160k miles. If it’s 7yr/100,000mi, that means 7 years from the date the car was originally purchased and put into service, and 100,000 total miles (no matter what miles is on it when purchased).

No it was purchased from the company that sells the warranty’s to the dealerships (the markups are insane). And yes it’s 60k which I had plus the 100k on top. So 160k.

I have had the extended warranties work out for me in the past. I normally used them as a bargaining chip if the dealership is unwilling to budge on a reasonable deal, but leaves more to desired. I got the all state premium, bumper to bumper 6 year / 100k miles for just shy of $2000 on the truck I own now. 0 deductible and towing / rental including. I figured one major issue and that warranty will pay for itself. Even small issues will add up. They bill the warranty for ALL work, at $80/90 an hour, over 6 years or whatever...could pay for itself. I once had a Mitsubishi that had an AC condenser go, the labor alone was $800 the part was $230 and the warranty was just shy of $600 when I bought it. In that case it paid for itself.
Ive had them pay for themselves when buying used.

I let the dealer talk me into one. Then cancelled it for a full refund. That one was only out to 85k. And on average I shouldn't have some major issue between 36k and 85k.

Plus warranty companies don't stay in business by usually losing. Sometimes it pays off but more often it doesn't. Otherwise they wouldn't be in business.

Plus I like mods

Update for anyone still looking... I just grabbed an extended maxcare for my truck. With my budget, I just went for the 7/85 plan. I shopped several online using the DPACIFICA code. I ended up going thru Clay Robbins as others have mentioned and he beat the online ones I found.

How many miles were on your truck? What brand, weight oil and oil filter were you using? How many miles did you routinely go between oil changes? Sorry for the twenty questions but inquiring minds want to know. The cause behind this cam and lifter issue is the Eagle Hemi's greatest mystery and is long on speculation and short on real facts.......

Had 153000 miles, mobile one oil, changed every 3000 miles, this cornered the warranty company because they tried saying if there was sludge in the motor it would not be covered. When I emailed my maintenance records he approved it right then. The weird thing is I didn’t feel the truck lost any power, the service manager told me “wait until you get it back.”

Most of you waited too long. They ended offering the lifetime extended waranties on Nov 30 of last year which was a great deal if you keep your trucks.
That said you get the best deal with the online mopar vendor s mentioned

Very true, I think the best Chrysler offers is 8 years 120000 miles currently.

Greeting All,

First post here and new to the Ram fourms..So I was wondering who you would recommend buying an extended warranty from. I contacted AutoNation Ram for a 5 Year 60K miles and they wanted 1700.00. but then looking at www.chryslerfactoryplans.com look like they want 1215.00 and then www.chryslerwarrantydirect.com they want 1100.00 for the same warranty. All with 100 deductible, so who can I trust?

When I called Mopar they quoted me 1700.00 with 0 % financing and stuff..So has anyone purchased one from www.chryslerwarrantydirect.com and are they legit?

I purchased mine through warranty direct. They are legit. My plan even showd up on the My Ram app a couple of weeks after I purchased it.

Maxcare is the same no matter who you get it from. It just comes down to who’s got the best deal. Warranty direct also offers zero % financing for 12 or 18 months. They do have a small surcharge if you decide to finance with them.
